the fundraising
Every day, around 300 people are diagnosed with macular disease. It’s the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK. Macular disease is cruel and isolating. It steals your sight, your independence, and your ability to do the things you love. It can affect people of any age — even children — but not enough is known about why, and there is still no cure.
Together we can fund the research that will find the cure. Together we can make sure the next generation won’t have their sight, confidence, and love of life stolen from them by macular disease.

primary mission: priority targets
The objectives in this area are vital to our war effort and securing them is your highest priority. Spare nothing in ensuring that they do not fall into enemy hands.
In the second, third, fourth and fifth battle rounds:
At the end of each Command phase, the player whose turn it is scores 5VP for each objective marker they control (up to 10VP per turn).
At the end of the battle:
Each player scores 5VP for each objective marker they control (up to 15VP per player).
secondary mission 1: behind enemy lines
Break through the foe’s army and cut off their lines of escape.
At the end of the turn, if two or more units from your army (excluding AIRCRAFT) are wholly within your opponent’s deployment zone, this secondary mission is achieved and you score 4VP.
If, at the end of yout turn, only one unit from your army (excluding AIRCRAFT) is wholly within your opponent’s deployment zone, then this secondary mission is still achieved but in this instance you score 2VP instead.
secondary mission 2: no prisoners
Exterminate your enemies.
While this secondary mission is active, each time an enemy unit is destroyed, you score 2VP (to a maximum of 5VP).
Note, that VP are scored even if such a unit is destroyed and then subsequently resurrected for any reason. If you score any VP from this secondary mission during a turn, then at the end of that trun, this secondary mission is achieved.
secondary mission 3: assassination
The enemy looks to their champions for courage. Identify and eliminate them with extreme prejudice.
Each time an enemy CHARACTER model is detryoed, you score 4VP.

Do I have to have a 'proper' army?
No, we just want the games to be balanced, so whatever you play is fine, as long as you bring a sheet showing you’ve not gone over 500 points.
Does my army need to be fully painted?
No, just fully assembled. We don’t mind seeing grey miniatures in the name of a good cause.
I play with a club or at school, can we enter a team?
Of course, just get in touch and we’ll make some arrangements for you to join.
What age do I have to be to enter?
As long as you’re under 18, or at least still at school, you can enter. Younger children entering will need to bring a supervising adult.
Do I have to raise a lot of money?
No, your entry fee of £25 is all you have to raise. If you can donate more, GREAT!
how can i enter?
Our entry fee is a ‘suggested’ £25 per player. We won’t block anyone from playing for lack of a fee, but we’d like to think that each player could attempt to raise the fee through sponsorship.

Why are we doing this?
In 2021, Harry lost his dear grandfather, Norman Ridley. Whilst it was cancer and age that ended his beautiful life, it was Macular Degeneration that affected him most while he was living, he couldn’t read properly, or drive, or watch TV. Harry wants to raise money in memory of his grandad, and to help support those living and suffering with Macular Degeneration.
